autaias world was inspired by my pepi autaia and her fearless, passionate spirit. autaia meaning "to be extraordinary" and i can atest to the fact that even in her young age right now, she sure is living up to her name. a true trailblazer in her own right. I want to always remind her, and my neices and nephews of who they are, what it means to be maori and the mahi of all those who came before us. it was imperative that our brand remains true to our whanau values, which i hope shines through with the pieces we create.

my name is payton, i'm the one wahine show behind autaias world, with a passion for bringing te ao maori into our everyday style. one thing that's for sure is i've always been so proud to be maori and this pakihi is another way to encourage others to incorporate our culture into our everyday lives. i have always been more on the creative side and want to share that through these pieces. each piece holds alot of mana for me and my whanau, what being maori means to us. it's especially important for us as a whanau to reminded our pepi where we come from whilst living here in te whenua moemoea so they still have a true sense of belonging.
